alliteration dolls made of themselves and/or their friends

I absolutely LOVED Julie Lee’s “All About Me Alliteration” activity, so I borrowed that idea and gave it a little twist. Instead of having the kids write an alliterative sentence about themselves, I had them write one about a friend! They thought this was the neatest idea! They couldn’t wait to say silly things about their buddies. I definitely chose partners so that the kids weren’t fighting over each other. They did such an AWESOME job!!!

Ingredients for good writing...I teach the kids to look at the word alliteration...it begins with ALL. I tell them that with alliteration several if not ALL of the words in a phrase or sentence begin with the same consonant sound. We practice a few tongue twisters.

Fun idea for alliteration- anybody have some good suggestions for books to read to spark this activity?

Print on card stock. Have kid draw picture of self on back. Cut out and put pieces in Baggie. Take home self expression activity!

alliteration shared writing... then each student can write their sentence on a page and it can be turned into a class book :)

This friendly letter song would be a fantastic way to teach these skills and would fit with the habitat unit when students write a letter to an animal asking about its home.
