In the civilizations I have created there are complexes where thought is explored Individuals intermingle and examine how a small dot draws focus or a flash of light excites Entire atmospheres can be constructed when it is understood what information activates each of the infinite aspects of the mind

Iannis Xenakis - IIX11 | graphic scores & sketches 28 Jan 2013, 10:00 hrs International Film Festival Rotterdam / Sound Stages | The School of Sound – Rotterdam| The SOS : traditional thinking, contemporary techniques and the broad range of creativity that informs sound production in both entertainment and art. And fundamental to the presentations and discussions is the relationship between sound and image – be that on screen, through performance or in space.
Iannis Xenakis - my favorite 20th century art music (classical music) composer. I was most fortunate to be able to study his music intensely and even study with him. If you don't know his music, you should listen to (receive) Metastasis, Pithoprakta and more, and in a very quiet place (never while driving). And his book, "Formalized Music" is amazing (although it can be a difficult read for many).

Xenakis - Best known for use of stochastic processes; also the first to really conceive of music programs as a generalised utility for composition, rather than a one-off experiment.
