Always combine your complex carbs with lean protein. IMPORTANT RULE FOR EVERY MEAL!

MORNING SHAKE: 1 banana, 4-5 strawberries, 1/2 c. blueberries, 1 peach (peeled), heaping cup (or more) fresh spinach, splash soy milk, 1 TBSP Greek yogurt, 2 tsp honey, 1/2 cup crushed ice

HINT: your first time, make it with blueberries. They totally hide the green color as you can see – it just makes a deep purple. Don’t worry, I won’t tell your kids. It will be our little secret!

Green smoothies. I have this daily for lunch w/ a few adjustments to original. One Serving: 1/2 c greek yogurt (FAGE 0%), 1 1/2 c fresh spinach or Kale, 1/2 c frozen berries or tropical fruit, 1/2 c water, 1 banana. Blend until smooth...the Ninja blender works wonders!

How to build a healthy snack: carbs (whole grains, fruits/veggies) + protein (dairy, nuts, lean meat, beans) = staying power!
