Use pine cones as a natural mulch to keep dogs, cats & other digging animals out of garden beds. This really is a great idea. Wondering if the chickens will also stay out of this?. it also providing some acidity to the planting beds in areas with more alkaline soil.

Lasagna Bed gardening: 1) Cardboard, 2) green mulch (weeds, lawn clippings), 3) brown mulch (dried grass clippings), 4) dead mulch (leaves), 5) compost.
