Remembering Pearl HarborCredit: Louis N. Batides | GBN PhotographyThe USS Arizona Memorial is located at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii, floating above the hull of the "USS Arizona," a U.S. Navy battleship that sank after the Imperial Japanese Navy launched a surprise military strike on Dec. 7, 1941. Pearl Harbor was one of the worst naval disasters in American history, with 1,177 sailors dying on the "USS Arizona" during the attack. The all-white, 184-foot-long (56 m) floating memorial can be reached by boat, and includes a shrine dedicated to the sailors, along with a museum with exhibits about the Pearl Harbor attack
