Been out to the UCSC center for agroecology back in my college days. It's an awesome place to see. They do great things here. Way to preserve genetic diversity. Inbreeding bad. Genetic diversity good

UCSC Seed Library Receives February Awesome Food Grant

  • Sha Hwang

The UCSC Seed Library was started in 2011 by Whitman, a fourth year History major at UCSC, as a way to catalog and preserve local seed varieties, in order to combat the increasing homogeny that comes from commercial growing. / Just funded by Jenny Lee's project Awesome Food

cataloging seed does not mean you aren't growing a GMO crop... most wild seed that is preserved in gene banks today is used to integrate traits from those plants into crops produced by commercial growers, improving the crop in some aspect. Oh, and good luck feeding the 9 billion people predicted to be on this planet by 2050 without the use of GMO varieties... organic production is great, but it just doesn't produce food efficiently enough to feed the growing population.

make pot legal & nobody would starve. grows anywhere [like a weed] is high in protein and is easily assimilated in the body because the molecule is very much like the molecule of our blood which means that people who are starving can eat a lot of it right away without puking it back up.didn't mean to go all hippy pro pot & what not. just don't think there should be anyone starving anywhere when it's something we CAN fix right now.

I just have to say...in response to a previous comment, if GMO's continue to rule the produce, there won't be 9 billion people around in 2050...
