Romantic Soap Rose Petals, Rose Soap Petals, How to Make | The Ponte Vedra Soap Shoppe

Consider this 3-Ingredient Rose Petal Sugar Scrub Recipe as a homemade Valentine's Day gift!

We used plain, unscented glycerin soap base for these projects (available at most crafts stores). Soap bases with natural additions, such as aloe vera, goat's milk, or olive oil, are great, too.

DIY Soap: Glycerin, honey, ginger, cinnamon, ground clove, oatmeal, chamomile tea, yogurt cups

DIY Hand Soap: Between the kitchen, the master bath, the guest bathroom and everywhere in between, you end up spending a lot on hand soap. And you could be spending that money on some extra fashionable, home decor! Instead, learn how to make your own! Just like with body wash, you’ll need to grate a bar of soap but instead of heating it up on the stove just add water and glycerin.

Clever! RSS soaps

Ok I'm posting this to ask a question: does making your own bulk handsoap only work with cheaper bar soaps like dove, etc? Can you use those handmade, natural soap bars and it still work and make a lot?

i saw a post on doing it with Meyer's which is yummy and natural. I haven't tried it myself but it looked like it worked.

  • Kristi Oleson

I would try it- I made some from a Mrs. Meyer's soap bar its all natural- worked great!

I tried it with Dr. Bonner's Castile soap. The texture came out really weird, but I put too much glycern in it. Next try I'm going to leave the glycern out - read somewhere that some soaps don't need it. It's kind of experimental. :)

i tried it and it was so runny, i ended up putting a bit of salt it got to solid i just threw it out.

I made it with castile soap (1 bar, shredded), 2 Tbsp glycerine and 1 gal distilled water. Add soap to water and heat until soap melts. Add glycerine and stir until it melts. Let cool and pour into foam dispenser. Add essential oils for frargrance if you like! works GREAT!

■Clean out your empty foaming soap dispenser ■Then… add 1 inch of Baby Wash to the dispenser… ■Fill the bottle the rest of the way up with water ■Then, gently turn side to side to mix together {no shaking} ■There you have it ~ you’re all done… and that was seriously easy! Homemade BB Foaming soap
