More from this board

want to recreate Kyran's Southern Spring in my yard!

the boys adore this 'fort' ironwork arbor -- it's going in our yard this week! from arborela.com

Running shoes - New Balance Minimus. I'm an 8.5, if you're wondering...

swing and loft space for tight spaces. I already have such things in my out-of-doors. now I want these too :)

Baking soda neutralizes the ph in the soil and nothing will grow there. use baking soda around all of the edges of flower beds to keep the grass and weeds from growing into beds. Just sprinkle it onto the soil so that it covers it lightly. Do this twice a year - spring and fall

I am making this tomorrow for that one row of beans without a planned structure!

I know Martha meant this (from June 2012 'Living') as an example only. but we're trying it at home: a portion of our path with a half-dozen walkables.

propagating lavender and rosemary from cuttings. bummer, it's a touch too late in the season. I might try it anyway... so many places I want to grow this stuff!

teepee from Country Living. I am fairly sure I am going to spend the rest of the week making teepees. why don't I make a teepee writing room?! how have I not already made a teepee?!?

how to build a willow den. this would be ideal for our backyard and we *have* a willow tree. I wonder if we could just cut down the whips in the fall and plant them? remind me in November to try (it can't hurt to try!)

I'm meeting with James, who makes these great climbing vine arbors, this week to talk about marketing. Wouldn't you want to buy one if you saw covered with beans in my yard? hmmm? will trade expertise for arbors.

'Scarlet Emperor' Beans with Lavender. going to figure out how to create this in my backyard jungle.

I'm doing this. May Day baskets: first thing. (I swear I came up with the idea independently of Apt Therapy. But the mason jars? That's all them.)

Magnetic light from Copenhagen Parts. not coming out 'til late summer :( turns on when you stick it on the bike; turns off when you take it off. great for the boys!

I'm skeptical about 'never buy it again,' but I'm all for 'grow from the roots.' I'll try it (but outside instead of in).

great idea! Cucumbers love hot, lettuce loves cool, everybody is happy.

hydrangeas and grasses! I think I would do it with lavender instead, because I love lavender most of all. or oats? oats and lavender?

wish i'd thought of putting these lights in the clamp-y mason jars. i have a bunch whose seals are failing!

love the idea of rainbows (my boys' favorite) without the boring primary colors.

roses made from tree bark. super lovely.

garden loom -- looks like a project straight from the book for boys

Cigar box and bamboo bee box. finally a re-use project with something i actually have to re-use.
