    Country Singer Barbara Mandrell embraces her father and former manager, Irby Mandrell in 2006. Irby taught his daughter to play an array of musical instruments at his shop, Oceanside Music Supply. Barbara graduated from Oceanside High in '67 and was Miss Oceanside in '65. She and her family performed at local bars and nightclubs, including the Normandy at 215 North Hill Street (Coast Highway). She later went on to tour with Johnny Cash, June Carter, Patsy Cline and George Jones.
