Mamie Eisenhower married to President Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890 – 1969) who was the 34th President of the United States from 1953 until 1961. He had previously been a five-star general in the United States Army during World War II and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe.

Mrs Eisenhower - one of my cousins was on the team that created this inauguration gown. It is now part of the Smithsonian collection.
