I think I have found one of my new favorite authors. Sarah Addison Allen managed to combine magic and a seemingly simple plot into a wonderful tale that hinges on several characters. I'm going to try another one of her books...

Eat Pray Love; Elizabeth Gilbert - Not quite as good as it was cracked up to be & some spots seemed harder to read than others but I definitely enjoyed this book.

We worry about game systems, electronic devices, injections in our lips, spray tans, liposuction, import all kinds of veggies and fruits out of season, and then wonder why people in third world countries who are not sure where their next meal is coming from don't really like us. Read the hunger games. A strong female arche type doing her best to protect her family.

While I can certainly understand how some folks might consider this to be a "feel-good" movie, I found it to be a prime example of liberal white wish-fulfillment. Young white woman swoops into town, empowers the black women to tell their stories, and then leaves them to deal with the vulnerability such exposure brings them. dombrosky

The Sisters: A Novel (Reading Group Gold) by Nancy Jensen,

Great view from another perspective & amazing how many times we feel like the dog, someone who sees so much but can't express what's really going on to those he cares about

25 Series to read if you love the Hunger Games I've read a few should look into the rest.

Well said. Why Harry Potter is not just a, "Children's Series". It baffles me when people don't get why I love this series so much. It's not just because of the magic and the characters! These books teach you something REAL and touch you in a very real way. They aren't just books, they are the truth of the world. I value everything these books have taught me and I'm better for having read them.

Did you know that books are still being challenged and banned? Here are 13 kids books that make that list ( with full reviews) .

This is a must read book. It's so much more than a "dog book" - it makes you want to do something to be part of making service dogs available to servicemen and women who have faithfully done their duty and come home with PSTD and other wounds. Read now. You will be so happy you did! Heartwarming. Wonderfully written!

Read! (but we book lovers knew this already.)

This is one of the romantic books I have had the pleasure of reading. Not just in a man and woman type of romance but a romance about life. This novel captures the beauty inherent in the world all around us. Not to mention the incredible vision it must have required to write this novel. One Hundred Years of Solitude earns Gabriel Garcia Marquez the title of master.
