The Horsehead Nebula is a cloud of ionized-hydrogen in the constellation Orion. These clouds are lit from within by young, hot stars. The interstellar dust absorbs the light from part of the ionized cloud creating this beautiful contrast. Image Credit: NA
The narrow dust ring around Fomalhaut. Yellow at top is the ALMA image, and the blue at bottom is Hubble Space Telescope image. The star is at the location of the bright emission at the center of the ring. One ring to rule them all!
Felix Baumgartner at the edge of space, miles high jumped from a helium balloon to perform a legendary skydive (he also set the altitude record for highest manned balloon flight, parachute jump from the highest altitude, and greatest free fall velocity)
