Agra Fort, is a monument, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is about 2.5 km northwest of its more famous sister monument, the Taj Mahal. The fort can be more accurately described as a walled city. (built before 1080). Red Fort Agra by ~CitizenFresh

Forte de Agra, em Agra, Uttar Pradesh, Índia. Esteve em mãos de mongóis a partir de 1526, e aí o imperador Humayum foi coroado em 1530. Esteve em mãos de mongóis e indus, conforme se desenrolavam as batalhas. Foi o mongol Akbar que o reconstruiu, uma vez que estava bastante arruinado. Usou arenito vermelho nas paredes externas. O trabalho se estendeu por 8 anos, até 1573; 4000 construtores trabalharam ali diariamente. Akbar passou a morar lá ainda em 1558.
