German recipe for Sage Syrup for sore throat: 2-3 handfulls fresh sage leaves; 1 lemon, sliced; 2 2/3 cups water; and 2 cups (16 oz.) sugar. Combine water and sugar in a pan, heat, and let cook for about 15 min. Add sage leaves and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the lemon slices. Let it sit overnight, then strain and boil again. Pour syrup while hot into clean bottle and seal. To use: For sore throat, dissolve 1 TBS in hot water and drink, up to 3 times per day. #remedies
