This is beautiful. Use a high quality yarn, such as cashmere. I added 2" to the length. The edges are finished with an I cord knit into the pattern. I will make this one again.

    During my education in 90s at School of Arts and Design in Finland there were also taught another technique, hem in the same step as knitting. After the first rows you fold the hem and knit together with the stitches you left on a waste yarn (the start row).

    Yes, that's right, it brings a more neat result. This is practiced especially when you machine knitting where the start row often is on a waste yarn.
