Beautiful entry, except that the light is too high. On the second story you have light at your foot level, and the first story has the light so high that it is not really part of the room. At least the light is BIG enough: usually lights are too tiny.
Wainscoting: wood paneling on boards up to door height in a room, wainscot oak Quartersawn oak used for paneling. Great for an entryway or mudroom. not quite so tall for us but would love in our entry and hallway and maybe even dining room
