Last Titanic first class dinner
A menu card for dinner on the evening of Sunday, 14th April. Extraordinarily lavish to modern eyes, the Titanic's first-class passengers would have been well-accustomed to this style of repast. The twelve-course menu is actually fixed: diners would have had the option to avail themselves of every course, although many would skipped one or more, or would have taken only the smallest helpings.
First class dinner menu dated 14th April. This was, for many, the last meal eaten by those in 1st Class.

On April 14, 1912, Ruth Dodge, the wife of a prominent banker, placed the Titanic's first-class lunch menu in her purse and went about her day before chaos ensued. Almost 100 years later, the menu has remained with the Dodge family ever since their ancestors survived the sinking Titanic. Little did Mrs. Dodge know that after almost a century her menu would be auctioned off for an estimated $150,000 or more.

In junior high I was nuts for Titanic history. The movie wasn't too shabby either, but I must have checked-out every book the town library had on the subject.
The RMS Titanic by the numbers. Compare the numbers of fatalities between first and third classes- as if third class passengers (even children) were less human than first class passengers- an atrocity of which society should be ashamed.
