1 lb mini marshmallows 2 lbs powdered sugar 1/2 c Crisco 4 Tbl water Melt MM 30 sec increments Add Crisco, and half the pwd sugar, mix. Add water one Tbl at a time alternating with the remaining sugar kneading the dough. Place it in Ziplock. add Crisco layer if drys out. To color it. Use Wiltons Gels. If a little sticky, dust it with cornstarch until smooth.
Making marshmallow fondant is so easy and very satisfying. This fondant I use for covering figures, covering cakes but not for anything that needs to dry hard and hold a shape. It just is too moist and would take forever to dry. Ingredients needed are 1lb powdered sugar 1/2 cup Crisco (original) 16oz bag marshmallows (MMs) 2-4 T water
Marshmallows ~ 2 envelopes (17g) powdered gelatin or 17g sheet gelatin (8 to 10 sheets), 1/2 C + 1/3 C cold water, 1 C sugar, 1/3 C light corn syrup, 4 large egg whites (1/2 C) at room temperature, pinch of salt, 2 t vanilla extract or 1 t vanilla paste, 1 C corn starch (or potato starch) + 1 C powdered sugar (for dusting). ~ 25-50 marshmallows.
