Caramel filled snickerdoodles: I made these today. Instead of shortening, I used butter, but it was a bit gooey, so I added a bit more flour. What I did notice was that if I made a small ball, the cookie would be too flat and the caramel would just be a big lump. The bigger the cookie, the better. They tasted yummy and were nice to package as a gift.
