Betsy McCall Paper Dolls first appeared on the pages of McCall's magazine in May, 1951. Betsy was always fashionably attired (the magazine was part of the franchise that still makes the McCalls sewing patterns today). Glad my mother always had a subscription.

I always looked forward to visiting my great aunt who subscribed to McCalls so I could get the latest Betsy McCall paperdoll set. (and of course, for other reasons too).

My absolute favorite paper doll when I was a little girl. Mine TOO! My grandmother saved all her back issues so when I came to visit I had a "stash".
