"With a degree in art and the inherited ‘creative bone’ from my mother, I made it a fun little project. I researched production factories and fabric stores. When I wore my final product to work (still the biggest seller in my collection called, the ‘racer cami’) I was immediately asked where I had bought my top! Who was the designer? I began making them upon request and soon enough was quitting my day job to fully commit to the launch of my collection of camisoles." www.thecoveteur.com/
"Once I partnered with Rizzoli [for my book] they definitely encouraged me to include more photography and make it a bigger book. That kind of freed up the form, so I have over 150 images in there and I think there’s only maybe 47 essays." www.thecoveteur.c...
"Another perfect place to dine or grab a drink for a city-cation is Aman Tokyo, a brand new hotel resort in Otemachi. The interior is beautiful with traditional Japanese furnishings, a restaurant with views of the Imperial Palace Gardens and Mount Fuji on a clear day and their spa is the best.” www.thecoveteur.c...

"At the bar downstairs they make the best Moscow Mule I’ve ever tasted. For cocktails I will hang at the dark and moody These Library lounge in Azabu Juban, where they make bespoke cocktails out of a selection of fresh fruit - usually I have the passionfruit mojito with fresh ginger, but it depends on my mood and what fruits they have on offer.” www.thecoveteur.c...

“[My most sentimental piece] has to be an old wallet. I have a wallet that was my dad’s. He passed away about 8 years ago. He had a wallet he used to have that he gave me years back, so I always keep it in my drawer of my dressing room, just to have it, just to look at it as a remembrance of him. It’s definitely my most sentimental piece.” – Victor

“A while back, when we were doing a shoe edit, probably gosh, I don’t even know how many years ago, I’m going to say probably 10 years ago, we would be on the floor and we would be joking around and talking about the shoes. ‘Oh, this shoe is a shiny pony,’ meaning, when you see a beautiful horse and their coat is glossy; a shiny pony is a pretty eye-catching horse.” www.thecoveteur.c...

Style Inspiration, My Style
I love blue in all of its hues so that really makes a big impact on my wardrobe. I love fun playful pieces but I think my style is definitely more refined than it was in my 20s. I still incorporate a lot of vintage into my wardrobe but I mix them back to pieces from the VEDA collection or other designer pieces. I am a relatively shy person, which sometimes leads me to tone down my look to suit my mood. I think that is why I love leather jackets. They make me feel safe and cool a powerful combo.”

“Don’t ask permission if you believe an idea is worthwhile—just write it with credentials you invent, then apologize later if you can’t carry it off. The latter never ended up happening because this was great advice. lt came from the late reporter Michael Hastings, who exhorted me to sprint after stories even if no one approved them, or approved of them.”
