This is not my house. But we did turn plain garage doors into carriage house style doors. We replaced the top horizontal panels with windowed panels, then added hinge and handle hardware (invested in more substantial larger hardware). HUGE difference! Our doors now look like this. If you have plain garage doors and want carriage doors, you don't need to buy new doors.

love old carriage house style garage doors! i also like the darker gray siding with the crisp white trim. "Sectional doors can feature windows in an upper panel, and some higher-end versions can mimic the look of traditional carriage-house doors."

We have a Porte-cochere like this w/o the dormer though and we LOVE it! If I was to ever own another home it would have to have a Porte-cochere. -Ann
