Even the lamp posts in Paris are gorgeous! This one is near the Louvre and Tuilleries Gardens) and has an inscription on the base is for "A. Muel, Fonderies de Tusey, 1837". The foundry (near Vaucouleurs) was created in 1832 by Pierre Adolphe Muel (from a family of ironmasters) and specialized in art objects cast in iron. Muel set up two fountains and 16 columns along the de la Concorde in 1834-37 (during reign of last French king, Louis Philippe I). [1st of two pins]
