i think most of the people that repin this don't really understand what is going on in this picture. it is not an "impressive umbrella" or whimsical. it is nearly poverty stricken kids who can barely afford anything.

2/11 #3 This picture demonstrates how Tambu could turn out to be. Uneducated kids normally turn out to be rebellious and stick with "sketchy people". Tambu is doing all that she can by growing her own maize and selling it to the white people who most probably will give her a decent amount of money. As she enters into adulthood Tambu is going to notice that every man fights for himself. She learned this at a young age, because her family gave her no moral support.
