Martha Mansfield  (1899-1923) was a  musical comedy star who was known as "the most beautiful girl in New York City."  Her most famous role was as Millicent Carew in John Barrymore's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" (1920).  In 1923, she had just finished filming a scene for a new film when her dress caught fire from a discarded match.  She was rushed to hospital but died the following day aged just 24.
