lights (paper sculpture installation)
Part of Lyon’s Festival of Light, Bourrasque, by Paul Cocksedge is a delight to look at. The ‘papers’ are made from an electroluminescent material and make for a magnificent juxtaposition against the backdrop of the 17th century Hotel de Ville.
A wonderful sculpture and light installation by London designer Paul Cocksedge. Resembling pieces of paper caught in the breeze, 200 suspended sheets were made from an electrically conductive material that lights up when a current passes through it. Each sheet was the same size as a sheet of A3 paper and was moulded into shape by hand. Installed in the courtyard of a hotel in Lyon, the 25-metre-long Bourrasque sculpture was completed for the city’s annual Festival of Lights.

While some of Chris Fraser's pieces are a little too reminiscent of James Turrell's work (which I adore), others are pretty damn cool.

love this use of old paint tins - when they're empty, make sure you use the dregs to colour the inside and front edge, then dry and use - match the decor!
