Rachel Ray talked about how you should make your own taco seasoning because the stuff you buy in stores is full of sodium(and it has silica in it, which is like the little packet found in new shoes that says DO NOT EAT!). This is just full of flavor. Simply spices! 1 T chili powder, 1 T ground cumin, 1 T garlic powder, 1 T onion powder, 1/4 T crushed red pepper
Stopped buying the jar stuff once I tasted this homemade salsa. Simpleand delicious: Chop 5-6 Roma tomatoes 1 small onion and 1/2 cup freshCilantro. Mince 2 seeded Serrano or Jalape?o peppers and 1 clove ofgarlic. Add 2 tbsp. freshly squeezed lime juice and salt and peper totaste. Mix everything together and let sit overnight for flavors tomeld.
BLACKENED SEASONING This is a nice, spicy seasoning that is great on just about any meat, poultry or seafood. Some of my favorite uses for it are on pork chops, chicken, and salmon. INGREDIENTS 1 ½ Tbs. Paprika 1 Tbs. Garlic Powder 1 Tbs. Onion Powder 1 Tbs. Thyme 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper 1 tsp. Basil 1 tsp. Cumin 1 tsp. Celery Salt ½ tsp. Oregano
Homemade KETCHUP instead of the store bought containing tons of high frutose corn syrup. 6 oz can tomato paste 1/4 cup honey (or agave) 1/2 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup water 1 tsp sugar 3/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/8 tsp garlic powder
Granite City Dip...oh so good!! 1 c sour cream, 1/2 c mayonnaise, 1/4 t onion powder, 1/4 t garlic powder, 1/4 t curry powder, 1/8 t paprika, 1/4 t Worcestershire sauce, and parsley flakes. Whisk together and top with parsley (although I like to mix parsley in also)
