In honor of summer berry season, serve our delicious version of the classic blueberry pie. We use maple syrup to sweeten up the pie, then tuck the berries into a buttery homemade crust.

Blueberry Crisp recipe from Patrick and Gina Neely via Food Network: I've totally made this twice in the last month. It's amazing. Not too sweet, just enough topping to call it dessert...

Blueberry crisp so easy and yummy! I double the topping and add 3 tablespoons of corn starch at least to thicken juices. I also make this with Apple slices in place of blueberries. 4 to 5 thinly sliced fuji apples. 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, tsp cinnamon, 1/3 cup flour, coat apple slices, drizzle a little real maple syrup optional. Double topping in this recipe and bake 350 for 45 to 55 min.

Blueberry Crisp: "Wrap up a summertime meal with a delightful—and easy to make—blueberry crisp. Ripe, fresh blueberries are perfect for this dish, though frozen berries will also work. But keep them frozen, and bake the crisp 10 or 15 minutes longer as needed. Thawed berries are too fragile to toss and give off lots of liquid."
