Tomorrow night's dinner! Crock Pot Lentil Soup from Food.com: This is a wonderful soup to come home to on a frosty fall evening. Great with a green salad and some crusty bread. I have been known to use 2 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes instead of the whole tomatoes and tomato sauce.
Sweet and Sour sauce recipe: 1 cup water, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 3/4 cup vinegar and 1/4 cup orange juice. Mix together and boil in saucepan. Once boiling add cornstarch mixed with cold water to boiling mixture. Continue adding cornstarch/water till desired consitency is reached. I used about 2 tsps cornstarch with 1 tbsp water. A few drops of food coloring to add color. Of course I used red so it would resemble the Chinese Buffett sauce.
BASIC GARLIC CREAM SAUCE • Ingredients: 1 Tb butter, 2 Tb finely chopped garlic, 2 C heavy cream, S & P to taste • Uses: On fish/seafood, pasta, steak, or steamed veggies; as a white pizza sauce; as a dipping sauce for bread, crackers, or veggies • Tips: Add 1/2-1 C grated feta, mozzarella, or parmesan cheese; add fresh basil, oregano, or parsley; add diced onion or red bell pepper • Try with 'my' ingredients found on "Belinda's Baked Tilapia" on my "Yummy Meats: Seafood" board!
