Lucille Ball (1911–1989) One of the most popular & influential stars in America. During her lifetime, she had one of Hollywood's longest careers, especially on television. Ball's film career spanned the 1930s & 1940s, and she became a television star during the 1950s. She continued making films in the 1960s & 1970s.

I have always loved this image of Cher that Richard Avedon shot back in the mid 70s. The man was a genius!
