To Kill a Mockingbird- Harper Lee This was my absolute favorite book as a young girl, and I still get so much out of it every time I revisit it. Atticus and Scout helped make me who I am, and that's one of the ways you know a GREAT book from a good one.

This book was my summer reading assignment before entering 8th grade. I dreaded reading it, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. To this day, it remains one of my favorite books.

If you every wondered what your dog thought about your life, read The Art of Racing in the Rain. A great story about a dog who believes in the Mongolian legend that a dog who is "prepared" will be reincarnated as a man. A lovely story that will make you laugh and cry.....and look at your dog in a whole different light.

Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein - A book written from the perspective of a dog. good read for dog lovers. Also try A Dog's Journey series. Made me cry.

I just re-read this book of Lois Lowry's in light of the Hunger Games trend, and I must say that this book is beautifully done.   For more info, check out my review at Goodreads.  (click the picture to read it)

The Giver (Lois Lowry). So many of her books are amazing, but I the last I read was The Giver while taking Kid Lit at FSU.

I have really enjoyed most of Philippa Gregory's books, especially those dealing of historical fiction.  Wasn't too fond of the Wideacre series.

The Other Boleyn Girl, Philippa Gregory.anything written by Philippa Gregory is a great historical read! I love this author's books!
