I just made this ruffly cake for my 5 year old's ballerina birthday party

Cold cuts stacked to look like ruffly, frosted cakes! I was initially fooled and thought these were actually little cakes. . . now I'm disgusted. . . (FYI @Nicole Vandekamp, this is what I was trying to do with the icing on Ryan's birthday cake. Fail!)

Less ruffles can be lovely too ! love the top

Someone please show me how to do all this fancy cake stuff! Not that I ever have time to bake or anything. Maybe I can do this for Sasha's birthday party.

This was identified as cold cuts, but when I went to the website, I saw that it is a Ruffle Cake at a fairy tea party. Oh, such elegant tasties there were! This is a picture of "more cake than ruffles" with the ruffle cake in the back. You can see how cleverly it is done - - ribbon technique, layer upon layer. (I still think the cold cut idea is a good one, though.)
