Oliver Akers Douglas is known for his dramatic interpretations of the English landscape. The business of looking and responding to the landscape is conducted in a highly-charged atmosphere. The paint is deployed rapidly in bold strokes, creating an uplifting sense of immediacy. He was described by critic Matthew Dennison as "the foremost landscape painter of his generation".
CLOUD is an interactive installation by artist Caitlind r.c. Brown. The piece is made from 1,000 working lightbulbs on pullchains and an additional 5,000 made from donated burnt out lights donated by the public. Visitors to the installation could pull the chains causing the cloud to sort of shimmer and flicker.
This is a fairly simple illustration. This looks like it was created back in the late 1900s because of the wallpaper and the girl's outfit. The girl is created out of black outlines, simple shapes, and some shadows. The shadows on the wall is my favorite part about this. I love how the artist showed the bird flying in 4 different steps.
