At the Houston home of interior designer J. Randall Powers and investor William L. Caudell, custom-made moldings amplify the elegance of the entrance hall, which contains a Regency settee and a 1920s Navajo rug; the sconce is by Vaughan, and the umbrella stand is a Ming-dynasty sake jar. The art displayed along the stairway includes a colorful work on paper by Joan Mitchell.Traditional Entrance Hall by J. Randall Powers in Houston, Texas

Houston Decorator J. Randall Powers' --- I love this entry way and how you actually walk under the stairs as you enter the house... I'm sure there are a couple closets tucked in under there as well.... Great look!!!

Had one just like this in a house we once lived in - I sure miss it!..... "love idea of entryway....then door into main foyer."

Great entry - More wood stain around the white moldings for me but a great design.

black and white flooring since we have a 1920's home this would be great in the kitchen or utilitie room

Make this a mudroom by substituting a long entry table with a beautiful tablescape on the right side, with a shelf on bottom for shoes and a shelf above for wicker baskets of stuff you need when leaving the house. You could also add boot trays under the bench for additional shoes.

Swoon. Love the paint color, the flooring, the light fixtures, the white woodwork....so beautiful!

the furnishings and wallpaper are a bit formal for my tastes, but I love everything else!

Flank large entry mirror with bird mounts or row deer antlers instead & large woven baskets under table.

Love this foyer! I think this is what we've settled on as the color scheme for the living room. Beige/oatmeal walls, white trim, and the fireplace wall in this grey color with the built-ins and trim in white.
