Slip-proof your rug: To give an area rug some traction, flip it over, and apply lines of acrylic-latex caulk every 6 inches or so. Once dry, you can safely put down your rug; the rubbery strips will hold it in place.

Never again forget your room's paint color choice! On the inside of your light switch or outlet cover, using a permanent marker, just write the paint brand, color name, swatch number on a piece of painter's tape for quick reference...I wish I would have seen this when we painted our living room.
