    The Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy novel written by English philologist and University of Oxford professor J. R. R. Tolkien. The story began as a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 children's fantasy novel The Hobbit, but eventually developed into a much larger work. It was written in stages between 1937 and 1949, much of it during World War II. The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King.

Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien Some of my favorite books! I just love these and the movies were the BEST!

Not as good as the books, but pretty freaking close. Jackson has one major flaw that, as an English major, I can't quite forgive. But overall, very enjoyable. The trilogy, as a whole, definitely falls in my top 5 flicks of all time.

Modern take on the Lord of the rings book covers, each illustration captures the key elements of the story line. The colour choice is very appealing on the eye, giving a sense of depth to the imagery. The typography reflects the elvish manuscripts seen in the movie.

All 3 books. One of the best reads ever. Tolkien creates a world like no other.

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

LotR. I've recently discovered that I love good movie posters :}

minimal poster series - The Lord of the Rings (2001) Maybe as chalkboard painting ?
