Tree branch curtain rod - Find a sturdy tree branch. Prune it and hang tied curtains on it. I think it would look best natural, rather than to paint it white as shown.

I've always liked this idea of using a branch for a curtain rod - Eye For Design: Fun, Unique, and Inexpensive Window Treatments

This one reminds me of Rocio's room...painted on the wall w little pins/hooks to hang necklaces on. Love this one!

DIY Curtain Rod Idea

Rustic Crafts & Chic Decor - Renee's discussion on Hometalk. DIY Curtain Rod Idea - An easy and inexpensive rustic curtain rod idea. I like to use straight birch branches with forked branches as brackets.

Curtains made from dropcloths. All four sides come pre-hemmed, so unless you need to alter the height, they are ready-to-hang. I have already used this idea in my laundry room and will do it again in other rooms. Easy to add embellishment, trims, fringe, stencils, etc.
