A tried and true method. Cut scrap paper to the size of the frame and mark the nail location on the paper. Using painter's tape, move the paper templates around the wall until satisfied. Then hammer the nail through the marks. Remove the paper template and hang!
OMG!!!! this is AMAZING .... PURE GENIUS!!!!! A trick for hanging photo collections: Lay out your arrangement. Flip frames over. Lay waxed paper on top of frames. Mark hanger/nail spot on waxed paper. Flip waxed paper over and tape to wall, nail into wall where indicated. Tear down waxed paper. Hang photos.-- Found this ONE day after I spent HOURS hanging a "gallery wall"
Hanging picture groupings: lay out on floor, flip frames over, cover entire arrangement with sheet(s) of taped together wax paper, mark picture hangers with a sharpie. Now place wax paper on wall, level it (if necessary) and pound nails right through paper and remove wax paper. Hang frames. Done...very good idea i might ahve to try this after i get my wedding pictures all back in the fall!
Why didn't I think of that?!?! Easy wainscotting idea: buy frames from Michael's, glue to wall and paint over entire lower half. Got this tip from a savvy home improvement person. Ha! That's stupid easy.
Frame the key from your first home together - would be cute with a street map behind the key. Paint the key to match your room's color scheme with nail polish >> I need to try this out once we get our house! And I agree that a map behind it would be ideal... you could mark your home's location with a little heart or something ;-)
