One Good Thing By Jillee demonstrates how a little vegetable or mineral oil will help wipe up that sticky dust that finds its way into your kitchen. Once you get it off, though, you might want to use a little dish soap and a cleaning sponge to clean up your, um, cleaning oil.*Note: I actually tried this while writing this post. Worked so well.
To keep dust from settling on furniture, baseboards, lampshades, picture frames, etc I mix about a tablespoon of fabric softener with 2 quarts of water and dissolve it completely. Then I use a terry cloth rag and wring it out really well so it's damp. Then I wipe down anything with a hard surface including leather and wooden furniture. There's no film and the fabric softener repels dust. It's great for blinds and less costly than dryer sheets.
