"Leon: The Professional." Written and directed by Luc Besson, the film starred Jean Reno as Leon, a professional hitman. In her first film role, Natalie Portman portrayed Mathilda, Leon's neighbor, whom he saved from certain death. She then demanded to become his protege. Also known as "The Professional," the film was released in 1994.

Boyhood (2014). The contemporary detail feels natural and unforced in Richard Linklater's instant classic, and watching the actors age 12 years onscreen over the 160 minute runtime is an unnerving but utterly gripping experience.
