The three-meter-high Memorial dedicated to the Czar’s children is located on the premises of the Ganina Yama church complex where the remains of the imperial family executed by the Bolsheviks were found.
The orb and scepter of Tsar Alexey I Romanov, Tsar of all Russia and father of Peter I The Great, Tsarevna Sophia, Tsar Ivan and Tsar Feodor. All of his children have to struggle for crown and were monarchs of Russia. All his children died between the age of 20 and 45.
On 2 July 1942, most of the children of Lidice, a small village in what was then Czechoslovakia, were handed over to the Łódź Gestapo office. Those 82 children were then transported to the extermination camp at Chełmno 70 kilometers away. There they were gassed to death.
