Kids' settle down jar.pint jar with water, 1 drop of blue food coloring and some glitter. shake the bottle and watch it settle. Once the glitter has settled, they've had time to calm down and talk about their problem.
Relax Bottle/Time out Timer. Glitter settles over time (chosen by you when you make it) to be the perfect time out timer. Wouldn't work for us as a time out timer but my son would love to watch the glitter fall.
Extra chores for when kids are naughty, whiney, tattle-taling, etc.what a great idea. Maybe call it the consequence jar, have white papers for older kids and pink for younger ones! Be great to also have a rewards jar for extra good behavior!
Love this idea: bored jar: if a kid complains of boredom they have to pick a slip & do the activity, good or bad. it might be going for ice cream, it might be cleaning their room. This would even be good for adults! I want a bored jar!
