1950's. View of the river Amstel in Amsterdam. On the right theater Carre. The river Amstel runs through the city and ends at The IJ. The Amstel originally began where two smaller rivers, the Drecht and Kromme Mijdrecht, joined together, near town of Uithoorn. The well-known Magere Brug bridge in Amsterdam crosses the river, as do the Blauwbrug, Hoge Sluis and Berlagebrug bridges. Amstel beer is named after the river. #amsterdam #1950
