Melancholia-Melancholia is a psychological disaster film from director Lars von Trier (Breaking the Waves, Antichrist). In this beautiful movie about the end of the world, Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and brother-in-law John (Kiefer Sutherland). Despite Claire’s best efforts, the wedding is a fiasco, with family tensions mounting and relationships fraying. Meanwhile, a planet called Melancholia is heading directly towards Earth.

Melancholia: an excellent underrated movie

Melancholia (2011) -And when I say we're alone, we're alone. Life is only on earth, and not for long. -It is a planet that has been hiding behind the Sun. Now it passes by us. It's called flyby.

I've never been a big Woody Allen fan, but I loved this movie. It made me want to go to Paris and get more acquainted with the classics like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, etc., but I'll probably be more apt to just watch another Woody Allen movie.

Antichrist by Lars von Trier. Totally fucked up and tense story of a couple who travels to a cabin in the woods to grieve the death of their child. You want to look away... but you can't look away.

I Am Number Four: I expected this to be a sub-par teen movie with more looks than brains, but I was pleasantly surprised. This is no Oscar-winner, but it is a nice diversion, especially for those of the superhero-fan persuasion. Seems we're in good hands with the Smallville/Buffy writing team that created this script.
