I never want my daughters to be obsessed with this, I want them to be healthy, strong, godly, indepedent, smart, funny, compassionate, loving, and to KNOW that what that scale says has NO BEARING on who they are. One of my last real "discussions" in the classroom involved a statement I made about having to "get out the sewing machine last night"..... A student (several) thought I was just being stupid (Science-fictiony) w/them... Had NEVER seen or heard of a sewing machine..... and we're in GEORGIA.....

Nothing like looking over and noticing you have 5 minutes till you're late and a heat attack to start the day.

I said this to Pat the other night and his response was "I'm pretty sure you didn't actually find that funny..."
