The Fisherman fresco is from the 16th century BCE. It was found in a house in Akrotire, on the island of Thera, which was destroyed by a volcano. The fish appear to be mackerel or small tuna. The Minoans' all-important relationship with the sea is demonstrated in much of their art, including this fresco
Fresco from Akrotiri: Antelopes. Akrotiri is a Minoan Bronze Age settlement on the volcanic Greek island of Santorini (Thera). The settlement was destroyed in the Theran eruption about 1500BC.
