The Descendants : 2011 - Great movie to understand what is the common issues that all of us are (or will be) facing in our own family... teenagers children vs a single parent, one of parents having an affair vs children, Euthanasia or death with dignity, having parents with senile dementia etc... it was really a good movie...and I even thought George Clooney might get Oscar for this role...(but I would have to watch the Artist, too...:-)

The Descendants (2011) - A land baron tries to reconnect with his two daughters after his wife is seriously injured in a boating accident.

The Descendants. Just saw this yesterday. I really liked this. Don't remember if George Clooney got any nominations for this, but he should have.

A strangely inconsistent tone throughout the movie kept this from being as good as I thought it would be. When comparing it to "similar" (moderate budget, mainstream indie) movies I would say it was better than "The Kids Are Alright" but not as good as "Up In the Air" or "Young Adult"
