The astonishing animal chairs of Maximo Riera #home #decor

  • Handi Mandi

Spanish designer Maximo Riera likes to design chairs that exhibit animal forms. The designer’s Rhino Chair, Walrus Chair and Octopus Chair, part of the Animal Chair collection, are equally interesting mainly because of the unexpected nature (no pun intended) of the chairs’ forms. The series of three sculptural furniture pieces retain the vitality of the animals which they represent – Riera ensured the animals’ biology and appearances were as realistic as possible.

Two words. Octopus Chair. Via flirtingwithutopia: The Animal Chair Collective, Maximo Riera “Animal Chair lives on the border between the rigid world of science and the versatility of art, capturing the splendor of nature and stressing that the relationship between man and animal, can be natural and harmonious.” #plsbeseated

Octopus Tendril Coat Hooks. It would be cool to paint a trompe l'oeil octopus body behind the hooks with little concentric "water" rings at the attaching points to make it look like it's reaching out of the wall.
