To decorate my classroom, I chose a movie poster of The Great Gatsby. The movie is being released in December. This shows my students that what we are reading is relevant to their lives outside school . . .plus, it encourages them to see the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan.

Wait what? They are re-making this move, and I am assuming DeCaprio is playing Gatsby? Idk how I feel about this.

The Great Gatsby. Leo should be great in this movie...but he's no Robert Redford. I'm still wondering if he is ever going to get a big boy hair cut. Same style since he was a little boy on Growing Pains

I was one of THOSE kids who actually liked when we read The Great Gatsby. Not so much the ridiculous dissection we did on it. But I did like the story. Can't wait to see DiCaprio as Gatsby.

Pretty cover for this book! I didn't like this at first, but it's really grown on me and it is absolutely the definition of a classic.

“There must have been moments even that afternoon when Daisy tumbled short of his dreams -- not through her own fault, but because of the colossal vitality of his illusion. It had gone beyond her, beyond everything. He had thrown himself into it with a creative passion, adding to it all the time, decking it out with every bright feather that drifted his way. No amount of fire or freshness can challenge what a man will store up in his ghostly heart.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

"I was within and without, simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life"
