The 1876 Gaar Mansion in Richmond IN. I'm delighted that the painting shows off all the wonderful architectural details, especially in the roof and around all the windows. Looks like a typical "downtown" home but at the time it was on a farm outside of town.

    Stone Victorian Home

Wow, what a house! So very much just what I'd love. Second Empire Victorian with center tower, gentle concave mansard roof, front porch, lots of dormers, not surrounded by a hundred plants and trees, just clean and clear and gorgeous.

The Davenport-Curtiss House constructed in 1875 in the Second Empire Style. William H. Davenport (1826 - 1909), was a prominent Saline Michigan citizen. Since 1902 this bank has been known as the Citizens' Bank of Saline. Well-known Detroit architect William Scott designed Davenport's elegant Second Empire home, built at a cost of $8,500.
